Installation

Insert CD ROM into the drive on your PC and double click Setup icon. The software is installed automatically and displays

the TrendReader Express icon on your desktop. To launch application, double-click on icon. The TrendReader Express

application window is displayed on the screen.

Download Data

Insert the IC-101 interface cable into the 9-pin serial port at the back of your PC. Click Back Up icon on the toolbar. After

contact with the logger is established, the Save-As pop-up window requires you to name the file. Once a file name is

given the TrendReader Express displays data set to a graph.

Zoom/Unzoom

To zoom into a window on a graph, a region needs to be selected. To select, Left-click on first point, hold button, then

drag cursor to next point. To unzoom, on Menu Bar, select Edit, Unzoom Last or Unzoom All. TrendReader Express

performs x-axis (horizontal) zooming only, and autoscales y-axis (vertical).

Autoscale

Autoscale provides best graph capture on y-axis (vertical). On Menu Bar, click Communicate, click Autoscale. To de-

activate, simply de-select.

Edit Graph Title

Position cursor on graph, right click, type in new title, hit Enter key on keyboard. New title is accepted. To save new file

with new graph title see Saving File below.

Print Graph

Click Print icon on tool bar. TrendReader Express will print to default printer.

Copy Graph to Clipboard

With graph displayed, click Copy Graph to Clipboard icon. Snap shot of the graph is ready to be attached to other

software applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, WordPerfect, NotePad, etc. To attach the graph, click Edit, click

Paste.

Change Printer Settings

If you want to change some printer parameters, click File and then Setup Printer on the Menu Bar, to have access to the

common printer dialog. For systems with Windows NT and Windows 2000 the Setup Printer option is not available.

This function needs to be performed outside the TrendReader Express environment. Click Start, click Settings, click

Printer and right-click to select printer.

Set Up and Clear Logger

Click Set Up and Clear Logger icon, enter desired sample interval and sampling mode.

Viewing Other Files

Previously saved files can be viewed by clicking Open File icon. Click the file desired, then click OK.

Saving File

To activate, simply click the Save icon, then type new file name.

Export to Other Format

TrendReader Express files can be exported to other spread sheet software by clicking, File, Save As menu. Type new

file name and specify format (tab delimited or comma delimited).
