7.1 Introduction to Equations

The data logger records readings in a raw data form.

TrendReader Standard 2

uses equations

to transform the raw data into meaningful, measurable units such as °C, volts or PSI (pounds

per square inch). There are numerous standard equations that are built into

TrendReader

Standard 2

. You can refer to your particular logger's guide to determine which equations are

appropriate.

These standard equations will normally be all that you need to get the information you want.

However, there can be situations in which no standard equation suits your purpose. In these

cases, you would need to create a custom equation. You use the

New Equation Wizard
